Day 3 Pula, Croatia

At Saturday we had an early morning because we were going to Brijuni Islands.

We visited the main island, which was amazing and we were really surprised of the beauty of the island's nature. We also saw some exotic animals, for example zebras and an elephant. 

There was also a museum about Josip Broz Tito because his summer place was in Brijuni islands. There were lots of pictures about him and about his life, he was the first president of Yugoslavia.

 

Back in Pula we planned the square thing of Monday for couple of hours. 

We worked hard and were satisfied with the result.

After planning we went to see the Colosseum of Pula. The sun was beautifully going down and we got very nice pictures about this historical monument. From Colosseum we also sent a group picture to the Facebook page of Muurame senior high (Muuramen lukio)

                      At 8 o'clock  at the evening we went to have dinner in the center of Pula. 
                        On our way we saw the Golden Gate of Pula, which was enormous.

Day 2 Zagreb to Pula

After we woke up at 8:30 we ate breakfast at the Chill out hostel. Then we visited a senior high in Zagreb. There the headmaster told us about the school and we also met some students who were really interested in our project. We had a really nice discussion and compared to our senior high in Muurame, we were surprised that in this school they had for example guinea pigs and turtles in the biology class. Few of the students promised to come to our "square thing" on Monday. 

After that we met "Youth initiative for human rights - YIHR" which was really really interesting. They told us about their work in for example transitional justice and we told about Muurame youth council. We decided that we would keep in touch if we liked to share some more information and discuss things.

Having done the two meetings of the day we went to eat in the central of the Zagreb. The food was of course delicious.

Around 17.00 we started our car trip to Pula and 3 more project partners joined our company. All of us were very tired but still the trip went very well and we had energy to for example sing in the buss. Or maybe we were just too tired ! : D

And around 21.00 we arrived Pula and  had a dinner. In Pula we met the rest of our partners and got to known each other better and better during the evening.

Day 1 in Zagreb, Croatia

Our morning started really early and most of Myrsky's members were really tired. First we went to railway station by car and then we continued our trip by train to Helsinki. From Helsinki we flew to Istanbul, Turkey and from there to Zagreb, Croatia. 

When we arrived to Zagreb one of our bags was missing and an other one was broken. Then we went to taxi and we had to run because police officer was writing a ticket for our taxi driver, luckily we were fast enough so that we didn't get the ticket . We had a great driver and we had also great ''party'' in the taxi. :D

When we finally arrived to our hostel, there was a lot of young people and food was okay. We were quite tired after arriving hostel, but most of us still went for a walk near by our hostel. There was beautiful and big cathedral and a lot of nice shops we wanted to go when we would have a bit free time. We came back to Chillout-hostel and we went to lounge with our project partners and we got to know each other better by introducing.
Then we all went to bed and we were excited about our becoming trip.

Advance planning visit (APV)

Well first of all we started to turn ideas to actions with really tight timetable and we had our APV in September because it wasn't that easy to plan things via Internet. We bought flights for our guests week before the APV. Everything with the trip to Finland went fine and two Croatian guys came to meet us. Our guests had all in all four days to stay with us and we did lots of different things and the main thing was to get known better and plan Myrsky's trip to Zagreb, Croatia. 

Food for the weekend

The first day went fast because Croatians came at the evening. At the first evening we went to sauna and swimming into the lake. We Finns were really surprised that guys really tried to be as Finnish as we were :D 

We had so much fun to teach Finnish habits and culture to those great guys!

On the second day we had the whole group together and we worked really hard and made plans about our trip to Zagreb especially our event which will take place in Zagreb. Later that day we chilled by the lake that day was so beautiful - sun was shining and it was still warm. We went sight seeing and drove/ walk around Muurame and Jyväskylä. We were in Riihivuori and the views were stunning.

Third day was also awesome! We spend half of the day planning our project and later we went to Jyväskylä. In Jyväskylä guys had a chance to take part in two exhibitions.At the evening we went to eat to a restaurant called HARALD and everything there was about vikings and the food was named that way too.

On the final day boys had a chance to take a private tour in municipality hall and they got "presentation" about Muurame. They also met the major of the municipality. The principal of senior high in Muurame also kept one presentation/ tour around senior high. 

Later that day boys went to the railway station and started their trip back to Croatia. We spend the whole weekend together and we got known each other well! 

Mitä? Missä? Milloin?

Muuramen Nuorisovaltuusto Myrsky on mukana kansainvälisessä hankkeessa kroatialaisen Serbian Democratic Forumin kanssa. Tätä Focus on us-nuorisoaloitetta koordinoi Muuramen nuorten yrittäjyystalo Innola. 

Hankkeen teemat ovat media ja nuorisopolitiikka. Hankkeessa Kroatiasta saapuu nuorisovaikuttajia Suomeen ja Muuramen "myrskyläisiä" matkustaa Kroatiaan. Yhteistyökumppanit vaihtavat tietoa ja hyviä käytäntöjä. Haemme myös kansainvälistä projektikokemusta ja kasvua Euroopan kansalaisuuden suuntaan.

Hankkeen päätapahtuma on Kroatiassa järjestettävä nuorisofoorum.
Hankkeen tiedotuskampanjassa sekä Suomessa että Kroatiassa asuvia nuoria tiedotetaan vaikuttamismahdollisuuksista. Tiedottamisessa käytetään mm. blogia, paikallislehtiä, haastatteluja ja julisteita. 

Kyseinen hanke toteutetaan syksyn 2013 aikana. Valmistelu tapaaminen oli syyskuussa Muuramessa ja päätapahtuma toteutetaan Zagrebissa.
